DOES THIS SOUND LIKE YOU?
You know exactly what you want.
You've known for a while, actually. You can feel it when you let yourself think about it, that pull towards the thing you keep circling on.
And you've tried. God, you've tried.
You made the decision, and for a few days you felt so clear.
"This is it. This time it's different."
Then a week went by.... You got tired, something came up, you just forgot.
And somehow you're right back where you started, in the exact same spot, wondering what on earth happened.
And then that mean voice starts...
"Why can't I just do the thing I said I was going to do? Why am I like this? Why does everyone else seem to be able to move forward, but not me!?"
You've called yourself all sorts of things, from lazy, broken, not brave enough, not disciplined enough.. to simply
not enough.
And you've said it with such a cruelty that you would never use on anyone you love
And the whole time, you've been doing everything "right." You've listened to the podcasts, read the books, done the journaling and the courses and the midnight research. You've asked every friend what they think.
You can explain your own patterns better than most therapists could.
And somehow understanding yourself so well hasn't made it one step easier to actually make the change.
Then you go back to scrolling, and you watch another woman make the leap, leave the job, start the business, move countries, end the relationship...
Something tight happens in your chest, because it looks so easy for her, and you think: what is wrong with me?
The loneliest part is that nobody sees any of this. From the outside you look so capable - Like a woman who knows what she wants and goes after it. They don't see the hours of going back and forth behind closed doors. They don't see you knowing exactly what you'd do, and then somehow talking yourself into not knowing anymore.
You're so tired. Not tired from the doing. Tired from the back and forth, and the waiting, and being so frustrated with yourself.
I want you to hear me:
Nothing is wrong with you. You're not lazy, and you're not broken. This was never as simple as a motivation or discipline problem.
There is a part of you doing this on purpose. And she has a really, really good reason.
